If you want a bonsai, you don’t have to buy it! Put a piece of "ginger" in the soil, and it will grow into a "small forest" in a few months

In fact, we can start with things around us, such as ginger. We all know that ginger is an indispensable seasoning in the home, but did you know that ginger’s appearance is also very attractive after it is planted in the soil and grows? The green branches and leaves are like "lucky bamboo". What’s more important is to plant a pot of ginger at home, which will make it much more convenient to eat ginger in the future. Now let me tell you some tips on growing ginger in potted plants at home!

1. Choose ginger

If you want good results in growing ginger in potted plants, you should choose some relatively sturdy ginger at the beginning, just like we would choose some sturdy branches when we are grafting plants. Growing healthy ginger in a flowerpot not only makes it germinate quickly, but also saves you a lot of trouble in later maintenance!

2. Prepare the container

We need to prepare a container as a space for ginger to germinate before planting. Put the cleaned ginger into the prepared container, and then spray water mist into the container with a spray bottle. The humid environment inside will accelerate the germination of the ginger, so that it can be planted in the soil faster.

3. Start Planting

After the ginger sprouts, we cut the ginger pieces with the sprouts and put them into the prepared soil and flower pots. When placing the ginger pieces, remember not to bury them too deep. Generally, a thin layer of soil is enough. Note that the tender sprouts should be placed upwards, and it is best to keep a certain distance between the ginger pieces. After the planting is completed, we need to place the ginger pot in a sunny place for maintenance. After about 7 days, you will find that the tender shoots will gradually grow bigger and bigger.

After the planting process is over, we can only say that our ginger bonsai is only partially completed. After all, daily maintenance after planting is the most important thing to ensure the growth of ginger.

1. Adequate lighting

Many vegetables and fruits require sufficient light to grow healthily, and ginger is no exception. We need to place the planted ginger in a sunny place so that the sunlight can provide it with enough nutrients and supplement the necessary growth energy. Naturally, the growth rate of the ginger will accelerate and the branches and leaves will grow more luxuriantly.

2. Sufficient water

Ginger potted plants need a lot of water to support their growth, which requires us to water them almost every night, and remember to water them thoroughly each time. In this way, after the water is replenished, the ginger branches and leaves will grow more hydrated, and it can also ensure that the soil in the flowerpot will not lack water.

3. Adequate fertilizer

In fact, we can apply some nutrient solution to the ginger potted plant just after planting, so as to promote its rooting as soon as possible. After taking root, the ginger potted plants will grow very vigorously, so we can apply some thin fertilizer water to provide nutrients. After sufficient nutrients are supplemented, the ginger potted plants will not only grow faster but also increase the number of fruits.

After growing up, the ginger potted plant looks like a pot of lucky bamboo, which is very pleasing to the eye. Flower lovers who like special potted plants can try planting it!

<<:  Don’t throw away this kind of kitchen “garbage” in the future. Pour some into the flowerpot and you can’t stop it from growing taller and blooming!

>>:  The flowers of Kalanchoe are scattered and not thriving, but if you feed them an "egg yolk", the flowers will bloom unstoppably!
