Jujube planting conditions

Red dates prefer an environment with plenty of sunlight, have strong adaptability to the environment, prefer dry and cold climates, and are also resistant to heat and humidity. They are not picky about soil, and are resistant to drought and barrenness, as well as low humidity. It is best to plant them in loose, fertile, and well-drained soil.

Date planting climate

Red dates are generally distributed in areas below 1,700 meters above sea level, and are commonly found in mountainous areas, hills, and plains. The most suitable temperature for the growth of red dates is an annual average of around 15 degrees. In areas with poor environment and irrigation conditions, the amount and distribution of rainfall will affect the growth of red dates.

Jujube planting area

The main soil type for jujube cultivation is loess soil with a deep soil layer. Shandong, Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and Henan are the main jujube planting areas in my country, contributing 90% to the national jujube production. Xinjiang, Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces have relatively high jujube production.

Date planting time

The sowing of dates should be carried out in the spring when the temperature is stable at around 20℃, but it must be done in the autumn of the previous year. Red dates usually set fruit in April and May, mature and can be harvested in August to October. The growth cycle is about 4 months, and the main varieties are divided by region and are different.
