Can red maple be potted?

Red maple can be potted and cultivated in flower pots. Red maple cannot withstand long-term exposure to the sun and is suitable for cultivation in the shade, so potted plants are more suitable for red maple. If planted in the ground, it may be exposed to the sun and it is inconvenient to shade it.

Potted red maple can use a pot with a diameter of about 20 cm, and potted climbing roses need to use a pot of about 40 cm. It is best to use a pot made of fired clay. Potted red maple can also bloom, but in general it is mainly for viewing its leaves.

Red maple potted cultivation method

1. Soil preparation

When preparing the soil for red maple, try to provide it with a loose and hydrophobic environment. You can use sandy soil mixed with slag, gravel and humus. This kind of soil is hydrophobic and fertile.

2. Pruning

When pruning red maple, you only need to cut off its old and yellow branches and leaves. Since it is mainly for ornamental purposes, do not cut too much and try to maintain its overall integrity.

3. Watering

When watering red maple, be careful not to overwater it. You can wait until the soil becomes slightly sandy, and then water the soil thoroughly all at once. This can prevent waterlogging in the soil and causing root rot.

4. Fertilization

When fertilizing red maple trees, do not bury the mixed fertilizer directly into the soil. This will cause the soil concentration to increase sharply instantly, and the plant body will absorb water in reverse, resulting in seedling burn.

5. Lighting

The light required for the growth of red maple should be mild. If it is too strong, it will easily burn.
