Cultivation methods and precautions of white orchid

Cultivation methods and precautions of white orchid

1. Soil

It is recommended to use loose, fertile, well-drained acidic soil or humus soil mixed with leaf mold for the potting soil.

2. Lighting

It likes sunlight and is not shade-tolerant. It requires a growing environment with sufficient light. If it is placed in a place with insufficient light, it may cause the branches and leaves to grow too long, or there may be more branches and fewer leaves, or no flowering, etc.

3. Temperature

Its suitable growth temperature is 20-30℃, and it is best not to exceed 35℃. When the temperature is below 15℃ in winter, it will grow slowly, and a long period of time below 10℃ will cause the plant to die.

4. Watering

It likes a warm growing environment, but too much water will cause the roots to breathe poorly, and poor air permeability may cause root rot, yellowing of leaves and other phenomena. In autumn, water the plants every 7-10 days, and in summer, water them every 4-5 days.

5. Fertilization

During its growing season, you can apply alum fertilizer water or cake fertilizer water once every 7-10 days. It is best to alternate the two fertilizers. Apply 1-2 times of quick-acting phosphorus fertilizer before flowering, and stop fertilizing after September.

6. Notes

For areas with alkaline water quality, you should use 0.3% ferrous sulfate or 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate when applying fertilizer every month to keep the leaves green. In September, you should gradually stop fertilizing to prevent the plant from having too much nutrients to survive the winter.
