Magnolia likes a warm, humid and sunny environment. It is relatively cold-resistant but not drought-resistant. It is suitable for growing in fertile, loose, well-drained sandy soil. It is not alkali-resistant. Its roots are fleshy and it is afraid of waterlogging, so you need to pay attention to watering.

After magnolia is planted, if it is well maintained, it will generally bloom in 2-3 years, and the flowering period is February to March.

Magnolia growth rate

Magnolia can be propagated by division in spring and autumn. Dig out the mother plant with dense branches and plant it individually. The roots need to be pruned and the branches shortened appropriately. In early spring, piled soil can be used for propagation. Collect seeds in September, store them in sand in winter, and sow them in the spring of the following year. They will germinate 20 to 30 days after sowing.

Magnolias grow fast.

Magnolia Growth Cycle Management

Temperature management: Magnolia likes a warm environment. The suitable growth temperature is between 20 and 28 degrees. It has a certain degree of cold resistance and can overwinter outdoors in the south, but in the north, warming measures need to be taken. It is best to maintain it indoors to avoid frost damage.

Fertilization management: After planting magnolia, you can apply base fertilizer to ensure the fertility of the soil. When it is growing vigorously, it needs appropriate amount of topdressing and foliar fertilization.
