Introduction to the growth of hyacinth

Hyacinth is native to the Netherlands, Asia Minor, and the Mediterranean coast of southern Europe. Its wild species grow in limestone areas of West and Central Asia.

Hyacinths are generally used for ornamental flower beds in my country, and are cultivated in small quantities in botanical gardens and parks across the country. However, they are not yet able to reproduce on their own and need to be introduced from abroad.

Hyacinthus growth cycle

Hyacinths are generally planted between September and November in autumn, and will bloom in April of the following spring after planting. They like to grow in a warm and cool climate.

The soil for growing hyacinths should be fertile and well-drained, and avoid being too wet or sticky. Its bulbs have the habit of dormancy in summer, growing roots in autumn and winter, sprouting new buds in early spring, and blooming in March. The plants wither in early June.

Hyacinthus growth rate

Hyacinth grows very fast in hydroponics. It will start to grow roots 1-2 days after hydroponics. After 4-5 weeks, it will be able to grow new shoots. It may bloom after 70-80 days, but if it is not well cared for, it may be extended to 100 days.

Hyacinth growth cycle management

The bulbs of hyacinth generally grow best at low temperatures of 2-6℃. The suitable temperature for its budding growth is between 5-10℃, the suitable temperature for its leaf growth is between 5-12℃, and the most favorable temperature for budding and flowering is between 15-18℃.

Fertilization management: Hyacinth is generally top-dressed once in winter, and once before and after flowering in spring. Pay attention to applying thin fertilizers frequently. If hyacinth is grown in water, it is better to add nutrient solution.
