Introduction to Coriander Growth

Coriander grows well in soil with good soil structure, high organic matter content and strong fertilizer and water retention properties. It is one of the most favorite and familiar leafy vegetables of the Chinese people. It is generally used as a seasoning or pickle, and can be used as medicine.

Coriander growth cycle

Coriander is a cold-resistant vegetable and does not grow well under high temperature and drought conditions. It is also a vegetable with a special aroma. If planted in high temperature, it will grow and mature in one month, and can be harvested in two months under low temperature conditions.

Coriander growth rate

Coriander has large-leaf and small-leaf varieties. The small-leaf varieties are more cold-resistant and can be eaten raw, seasoned, or pickled. They are suitable for planting in autumn. In order to create a comfortable growing environment for coriander, it is necessary to carefully cultivate, loosen the soil, and weed many times.

Coriander is generally planted in the northern region from late October to early December. Most coriander can survive the winter and can be harvested in the spring of the following year. In the southern region, it is sown in April, July-August, and October-December. After 3-4 months of germination, seedling growth, and plant growth, it can be harvested and put on the market.

Coriander growth cycle management

Coriander is widely grown in my country. Under normal circumstances, the yield of coriander per mu is about 1,500-3,000 kilograms. It is native to the Mediterranean basin and is one of the earliest spices in the world. It has a short growth cycle and strong cold resistance.

Temperature management: The suitable growth temperature for coriander is between 17℃-20℃. It can tolerate low temperatures of -1℃ to 2℃. It grows slowly when the temperature exceeds 20℃ and stops growing when the temperature is above 30℃.

Fertilization management: After the previous crop of coriander is harvested, 40-60 kg of compound fertilizer and 4000-6000 kg of decomposed high-quality organic fertilizer should be applied per mu. After spreading them evenly, deep plowing of 20 cm is required.
