How long is the growing cycle of grapes?

Introduction to Grape Growth

Grapes are suitable for growing at altitudes of 400 to 600 meters. They are native to western Asia. The main producing areas in my country include Xiaoxian County, Anhui, Turpan, Xinjiang, Yantai, Shandong, Zhangjiakou, Hebei, Dalian, Shenyang, Liaoning, and Yifen, Henan.

Grape growing cycle

Grapes are light-loving plants with high requirements for light. If there is insufficient light, the leaves will be thin, the leaf color will be light, the fruit clusters will be small, and there will be many fallen flowers and fruits. Normally, the growth cycle of grapes is about 90-100 days.

Grape growth rate

The growth process of grapes generally has four stages, namely the budding period, flowering period, fruiting period and ripening period. The growth rate of grapes is quite fast. They begin to sprout in late March and early April in spring, bloom around early June, bear fruit in late June and early July, and enter the ripening period in late August and early September.

Grape growing cycle management

The yield of grapes per mu is generally 2,000-3,000 jin, but if it is not managed properly, it may lead to low yield. During the growth cycle of the grapes, the plants must be given sufficient nutrients to ensure that there are sufficient nutrients for flowering and fruiting, otherwise it will affect the yield.

Temperature Management

Grapes have different temperature requirements at different stages of their growth cycle. In order to allow the plant to grow new shoots and flower buds normally, the temperature needs to be maintained between 25-38°C. The temperature for flowering and pollination cannot be lower than 14°C, and the temperature during the berry ripening period is best between 28-32°C.

Fertilization management

Grapes need to be fertilized in time before they sprout. The fertilizer should mainly be water-soluble fertilizer containing a large number of elements, which can promote uniform germination and thick leaves. Ripening fertilizer can also be applied to the grapes twice, one 20-30 days before maturity, and the other when the grape berries begin to soften but have not yet colored.
