The difference between cat's claw and cat's whiskers

1. Differences in plants

Cat's claw is an annual herb, about 5 to 20 cm in height, with many fleshy spindle-shaped tubers at the bottom. They are relatively hard and shaped like a kitten's claw, with a diameter of 3 to 5 mm.

Cat's whiskers is a perennial herb, about 1 to 1.5 meters tall and square in shape.

2. The difference of leaves

The leaves of cat's claw are broadly ovate to reniform, 5 to 40 mm long and 4 to 25 mm wide. The leaves are small and grow from the stem without petioles.

Cat's whiskers are diamond-shaped and oval in shape, approximately 1.2 to 5.5 cm long and 0.8 to 3.5 cm wide, with sparse round teeth on the edges of the leaves.

3. Differences in Fruits

The fruit of cat's claw is spherical in shape, about 6 mm in diameter, and matures from April to July.

The fruit of cat's whisker grass is oval in shape, 2 mm long and 1.6 mm wide. The flowering and fruiting period is around May to November.
