How long is the growth cycle of Impatiens?

Introduction to the growth of Impatiens

Impatiens likes to grow in sunny terrain, and the soil it grows in needs to be loose and fertile. Impatiens is native to China and India, and is currently cultivated in various parts of China, mainly in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hebei, Anhui and other places.

Impatiens growth cycle

Impatiens has strong survival ability and good adaptability. Its growth cycle is about 150-240 days. It usually will not wither until the first frost occurs, which is around the end of November or December.

Impatiens growth rate

Impatiens is sown in spring and will germinate 13 days after sowing. A week after germination, a pair of cotyledons will appear, followed by true leaves that will soon grow out. Soon after the true leaves grow out, the plant will grow buds in preparation for flowering, so it can be seen that its growth rate is relatively fast.

Impatiens growth cycle management

Temperature Management

The suitable temperature for the development of Impatiens is 22-25 degrees at noon and 20-21 degrees in the evening. The suitable temperature for the plant's growth is 15-30 degrees. When the temperature is higher than 29 degrees at noon, it should be shaded, and when the temperature is lower than 15 degrees, it should be moved to a warm place indoors for maintenance in time.

Fertilization management

Before sowing Impatiens, bury some base fertilizer or apply some liquid fertilizer. After the seedlings emerge, you can apply appropriate top dressing. If you find that the branches and leaves of the plant are not growing well, you can continue to apply top dressing every 2 months to promote the germination and growth of the branches and leaves. Nutrients also need to be supplemented in advance during the flowering period.
