How long is the growth cycle of Oyster mushrooms?

Introduction to the growth of Oyster Mushroom

Oyster mushroom, also known as black peony mushroom, is a very common gray edible mushroom. It mainly grows on woody and fibrous plant residues. Its main producing areas in my country are Hebei, Jilin, Liaoning, Shanxi, Hunan, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places.

Growth cycle of oyster mushroom

Oyster mushroom has certain temperature requirements. The environment temperature in which it can survive is about 5-35 degrees, but it is not very demanding on oxygen. It can grow well when covered with a film and lacks oxygen, but it cannot be exposed to light during the fungus period.

The growth cycle of Oyster mushroom is about 4-5 months. When the spores mature, they are ejected from the gills, completing a growth cycle.

Growth rate of oyster mushroom

The growth process of Pleurotus ostreatus is generally that spores colonize and germinate to form mycelium, the mycelium matures, and then reproduces to form fruiting bodies, which eject spores after maturity.

Generally speaking, Oyster mushrooms can grow and develop normally under high temperature conditions, have vigorous metabolism, grow fast, and have relatively high yields.

Management of the growth cycle of Oyster Mushroom

The average yield per mu of Oyster mushroom is around 1200-1500 kg. If the management technology is advanced and the configuration is good, the yield per mu of Oyster mushroom can reach 5000 kg, which is equivalent to about 2.25 kg per square meter.

Temperature Management

The mycelium growth temperature range and suitable temperature of different species of Pleurotus ostreatus are not exactly the same. Most varieties can grow at 5-35℃, the suitable growth temperature is 20-30℃, the optimum growth temperature of low-temperature and medium-low-temperature varieties is 24-26℃, and the optimum growth temperature of medium-high-temperature and wide-temperature varieties is about 28℃.

Fertilization management

During the peak and late fruiting period of Oyster mushrooms, the nutrients in the culture medium are exhausted. During this period, it is necessary to apply fertilizers in time, which can significantly increase the yield of Oyster mushrooms and improve the quality. Fertilization mainly uses manure and soil fertilizer, which has a better effect.
