Cultivation methods and precautions of Xiaozhuya

1. Lighting

Although it likes light, it cannot tolerate strong light. For example, the light is relatively strong in summer and autumn, so you should avoid it in time or block it with something, as strong light will burn the leaves. The light in winter and spring is mild, so you can put it in a well-lit place and get sun all day long, so that the branches and leaves will be wider and greener.

2. Watering

The arrowroot lives in tropical rainforests and prefers a humid environment, so it needs to be watered frequently, but water should not accumulate. During normal maintenance, you should spray water around to increase the humidity and keep the potting soil and moisture moist.

3. Temperature

It has poor cold resistance, so you need to pay attention to winter when maintaining it. You need to control the temperature in time when the temperature is low, and it is best to always keep it above 10 degrees. Normally, it can grow well if the temperature is between 18-30 degrees.

4. Fertilization

Do not apply fertilizer frequently during the maintenance period, because growth almost stops in winter and summer and no nutrients are needed. However, occasional fertilization in spring and autumn can make it grow more vigorously. When fertilizing, just apply diluted liquid fertilizer. It is best not to use granular fertilizer to avoid burns.

5. Notes

It is a plant that is not susceptible to diseases and pests, but if the ventilation is poor during maintenance, it will be easily attacked by aphids in the high temperature of summer. When found, the diseased branches should be cut off and sprayed with drugs such as DDT or carbendazim for prevention and control.
