How often should I water the Jabuticaba?

Jaboticaba is mostly a wetland seedling. In spring, summer and autumn, it is mainly watered once every 2 days, once a day and once every 3 days respectively. In winter, as long as the soil is kept moist, there is no unified watering rule.

It has certain requirements for water quality and should try to avoid tap water and well water. It can be irrigated with river water, lake water, pond water, snow water or rain water, which can provide it with nutrients and promote growth.

Jabuticaba watering method

1. Watering according to the environment : When ventilation is poor and the temperature is low, the moisture in the potting soil will be consumed very slowly. At this time, you can choose not to water or water less. If the air is relatively dry and the moisture in the potting soil evaporates quickly, you need to increase the amount of watering.

2. Watering according to the temperature : You can decide according to the temperature. In the hot summer, you can water once before 8 am and after 4 pm every day. If the soil in the pot is not dry, you can choose not to water it. When the temperature is between 17~20°C, it is very suitable for the growth of jaboticaba, and you can water it every 1~2 days.

Jabuticaba watering precautions

1. Do not water too much : It is very important to water the jaboticaba during the cultivation period. Water it frequently during the maintenance of the jaboticaba and pay attention to keeping it moist, but it is best not to allow water to accumulate.

2. Water as needed : The specific amount of watering should be determined based on the origin, characteristics and growing season of the seedlings. However, be careful to make sure the soil is watered thoroughly when watering, and there should be no accumulation of water. If it is a potted plant, be sure to let the water in the pot drain.

What to do if Jabuticaba is overwatered

If the jaboticaba is watered too much, it needs to be re-potted. It is recommended to replace the soil when repotting, because the previous soil contains a large number of bacteria. If it is not replaced, it will easily cause root rot again. If you really don’t want to change the soil, you need to disinfect the original soil before using it.

After re-potting, we need to control watering, because the roots of the round-headed jade plant have been trimmed and its ability to absorb water is very poor. If we water it too much, it will easily cause water accumulation, causing the roots to rot again.
