The wood apple has strong adaptability to soil, but it is best planted in slightly acidic soil with deep soil layer, loose, fertile, well-drained. It requires good ventilation conditions and prefers an environment with plenty of sunlight, but it is also shade-tolerant, has strong resistance to adversity, and is very drought-resistant.

The wood apple is a typical middle and lower forest tree species in tropical rainforests. It prefers a warm and humid environment, is not resistant to low temperatures, and cannot be planted in areas with lower temperatures.

Suitable areas for growing cassia

The wood apple is distributed in India, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and China. In China, it is distributed in Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi and Yunnan, in sparse woodlands in valleys at an altitude of 1000-1300 meters.

Planting time of wood apple

The wood apple is usually planted in spring and can be planted from April to August. It starts to bloom and bear fruit after 6 years of maintenance. Buds appear in February every year, flowers begin to bloom in early March, and the flowers are in full bloom from March to April. Young fruits grow from early April to mid-July, and the fruits mature in mid-to-late July.

The wood apple is a subtropical tree species with beautiful fruit shape. People can appreciate the tree, flowers and fruit, and it has a high ornamental value. However, there is currently no research and development data. Although the medicinal properties of the wood apple have long been recorded, they have only been used among the people and lack commercial exploration and development.
