Is the pine nut yield high?

The yield of pine nuts is very high. The growth rate of the plant is slow and it will bear fruit after 50 years of planting. The annual output of pine nuts in my country is about 80,000 tons. At present, the red pine variety has the highest seed yield.

How to grow pine nuts for high yield

1. Site selection and land preparation

For pine nut seedlings, loose, flat, and well-drained soil should be selected. If it is a planting site, it needs sufficient water and fertile soil. Before planting, the soil should be finely leveled and an appropriate amount of agricultural fertilizer should be added as base fertilizer.

2. Sowing and seedling raising

Before planting, the pine nuts should be stored in river sand to germinate. They will be sown in the spring of the following year. First, the seedbed should be disinfected, and then row sowing should be adopted. After sowing, a layer of plastic film should be covered.

3. Seedling management

Pay attention to water management after sowing. Seedlings will emerge in about a month. Be careful to prevent damage from rats and birds. Spray ferrous sulfate once every 7-10 days to improve the immunity of seedlings.

4. Reasonable density planting

Pine trees need to be transplanted many times during their growth process. The first time the row spacing should be 30-40 cm, the second time should be 60 cm, and the last time should be maintained at 4-5 meters.

5. Pest and disease control

What pine trees fear most are aphids, especially when they are young trees, which can harm the leaves of the plants. If necessary, you can use dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate for prevention and control.
