Purple pearl breeding method

There are two methods of propagation for purple pearls: division and cuttings. The growth rate of cuttings is faster, and the cuttings can take root 20 days after the cuttings. They can be potted when the root length is 2-3 cm.

The best time for purple pearl cutting propagation is generally from August to October. The temperature and humidity at this time are suitable, the rooting is fast, and the survival rate of planting is high.

Remove the purple pearl from the pot, be careful not to damage the roots, clean the soil and make the roots extend in the same direction, then cut the root neck connected to the mother plant into several parts, plant the separated plants in pots, water them thoroughly, and then place them under a shade for maintenance.

Purple Pearl Cutting Propagation

Cut off the strong top branches of the purple pearl, remove the lower leaves, place them in a well-ventilated place to dry, and insert them into slightly moist sandy soil (not too wet) to avoid rot at the wound.

Purple pearl leaf cutting propagation

Cut off complete and mature purple pearl leaves, place them flat on slightly moist sand with the leaf surface facing up and the back of the leaf facing down, and keep them in a well-ventilated and cool place. After 10 days, small leaves and new roots will grow. Then bury the new roots in the soil, expose them to more sunlight, water and fertilize them appropriately, and new plants will grow soon.

Purple Pearl will enter a dormant period in summer, with slow growth or even stop growing. At this time, it has less demand for nutrients, so try to apply less fertilizer or no fertilizer. If the air is dry, spray water appropriately to keep it moist, and also take shade measures and move it to a semi-shaded place for maintenance.
