When is the best time to sow rice in Northeast China?

Northeast rice planting time

Northeast rice is an important food crop that is grown in almost every household. Northeast rice is native to the Northeast.

It is planted once a year in North China, mainly before Qingming Festival, and transplanted in April-May. The Northeast region has early-maturing single-season rice, and the specific sowing time is April.

Northeast rice sowing method

Northeast rice needs to be sown at a suitable temperature. Generally, the temperature needs to be above 7 degrees, and the ground temperature at 5 cm reaches 8-10 degrees before sowing. After sowing, the seeds need to be covered with 0.5-1 cm of nutrient fine soil and watered thoroughly to allow them to germinate quietly.

Northeast rice needs thinning when it grows to a certain stage. The depth of transplanting should be kept at about 1.5 cm, and the number of seedlings in each hole should be kept uniform, generally maintained at 3-4 seedlings. It needs to be watered in time during the growth period, especially when the soil is dry. It also needs appropriate amount of topdressing to increase its yield.

Rice harvest in Northeast China

If double-season rice is planted in Northeast China, it is best to choose extra early-maturing varieties. The first season rice can be planted in mid-April and harvested in August, with a growing period of 104 days. The second season rice can be harvested while transplanting, with a growing period of 87 days.
