Potatoes are a crop that prefers cool weather and is not resistant to high temperatures. They prefer a growing environment with high light intensity and have very strict requirements for soil. Soil with a deep layer and loose structure is the best. The main producing areas are Gansu, Ningxia and Inner Mongolia.

The suitable temperature for potato growth is 17-21℃. The plants are not cold-resistant and afraid of frost. When the temperature is below 1℃, the tubers may be damaged by frost.

Potato Growth Period and Process

There are many varieties of potatoes, which are widely grown in China, India, Russia, Ukraine and other countries. The growth cycle is about 60-100 days.

The growth of potatoes goes through several stages, including the sprout growth stage, seedling stage, tuber growth stage, starch accumulation stage, etc., and the growth rate is relatively fast.

Potato Planting Process and Methods

1. Germination treatment: Place the selected potato seeds in moist sand and lay the seeds flat for germination.

2. Scientific land preparation: The soil needs to be disinfected before planting. You can spray a dilute copper sulfate solution to effectively prevent the growth of bacteria.

3. Planting: bury a small amount of thin organic fertilizer particles in the soil, then keep the spacing between the seedlings at about 20-25 cm. After planting, cover with 6-10 cm of fine soil and water to keep it moist.
