Grape growing conditions and characteristics

Grape growing conditions

Grapes prefer a warm, humid, well-lit growing environment and have high requirements for water, but they avoid rain and dew. Years with too much rain are not conducive to the growth of the fruit. The main producing areas are Xinjiang, Hebei, Shandong and other places.

Grapes prefer a warm growing environment. The most suitable growth temperature is 20-30℃, and the lowest temperature during the growth period is 12-15℃. The plant is very afraid of freezing, and when the temperature is below 10℃, the plant's growth will slow down.

Grape growing period and process

Grapes are native to western Asia and are now cultivated all over the world, but mainly in the northern hemisphere. The growing season of the plant is from August to September, and the production period can reach 20 years.

Grapes begin to bear fruit 2-3 years after planting. The plants will enter the shoot stage two weeks after planting, start to bloom in early June, enter the fruiting stage at the end of June, and enter the ripening stage in August, at which time the fruits can be picked.

Grape growing process and methods

1. Choose soil: When planting grapes, you must choose fertile and loose soil. You can use garden soil, leaf mold, and sandy soil to prepare it. Add an appropriate amount of decomposed base fertilizer before planting.

2. Planting: Sprinkle the grape seeds into the soil, then cover it with a layer of fine sand, pour an appropriate amount of water, and control the temperature at around 22°C. It will take root and sprout in about half a month.
