What is the best fertilizer for roses?

Rose fertilization time

1. Roses should be fertilized in time after planting. Superphosphate and organic fertilizer can be applied. Mix the soil and fertilizer evenly and apply them together.

2. Roses need to be topdressed with phosphorus and potassium fertilizers in time during the stage of flower bud differentiation to bud formation. You can use 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate for foliar spraying and also apply foliar fertilizers.

3. Do not fertilize or apply less fertilizer to roses during the high temperature period in summer. In winter, you can apply a high-concentration cake fertilizer once, or you can use slow-release organic fertilizers, such as well-rotted compost and manure. No topdressing is needed throughout the winter.

What fertilizer to use for roses

It is better to apply nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, organic fertilizers and compost to roses. It is a fertilizer-loving plant. In March of early spring, you can apply liquid fertilizer mainly composed of nitrogen to promote the growth of branches and leaves. During April and May, apply fertilizer mainly composed of phosphorus and potassium 2-3 times to promote more buds and flowering. After the flowers bloom, you can apply rejuvenation fertilizer again, and no more fertilizer will be applied after that.

Rose fertilization method

1. When fertilizing roses, you should follow the method of "thin fertilizer and frequent application". You should cultivate the soil and apply fertilizer at least once every winter to ensure that the flower buds and young branches of the plant have enough nutrients, the branches and leaves will be more luxuriant, and the flowers will bloom more beautifully.

2. During the flowering period of roses, the frequency of fertilization should be changed to once or twice a week to ensure the flower production. It is also necessary to cultivate mother branches for flowering and cut off the flower buds on weak branches.

Rose fertilization precautions

Before planting roses, you need to dig trenches and apply base fertilizer. During the growing period, you need to pay attention to drainage and waterlogging prevention. You should also apply fertilizer two or three times to encourage the non-flowering branches to bloom in the second year.
