What fertilizer is best for Polygonatum sibiricum

What fertilizer is best for Polygonatum sibiricum

Fertilization time

Polygonatum sibiricum requires more fertilizer in the early stage of growth, generally between April and July. It is necessary to fertilize it in time to ensure that the plant has sufficient nutrients during the nutritional growth stage.

What fertilizer to use for Polygonatum sibiricum

In order for Polygonatum to grow well, it is generally faster to apply farmyard manure, soil fertilizer, cake fertilizer, superphosphate and other fertilizers. Choose sandy loam with loose soil texture and good water retention. Deeply plow the soil before planting, combine with land preparation, apply 2000 kg of farmyard manure per mu as base fertilizer, rake the soil finely, level it and make ridges.

Polygonatum sibiricum fertilization method

When planting Polygonatum, apply 1000-2000 kg of human feces and urine per mu. In November, apply winter fertilizer heavily, 1000-1500 kg of soil and miscellaneous fertilizers, 50 kg of superphosphate, and 50 kg of cake fertilizer per mu. After mixing them, apply the fertilizers in small trenches between rows or plants in cold weather, and then cover the rows with soil and fertilizer.

Precautions for fertilizing Polygonatum

During the growing period of Polygonatum, fertilizer should be applied frequently to promote the growth of seedlings, but nitrogen fertilizer should not be applied exclusively to prevent the branches and leaves from growing too long. In the later growth process, cake fertilizer should be used mainly to promote the growth of Polygonatum tubers to achieve the goal of increasing production.
