Preparation method of Begonia soil

Begonia soil requirements

Begonia is suitable for growing in a weakly alkaline flower soil that is well-drained, loose, soft and rich in nutrients. When caring for it, you can mix garden soil, leaf mold and fine sand in a ratio of 2:2:1 to make its flower soil, or you can mix peat soil and fine sand in a ratio of 3:1 to make its flower soil.

Preparation method of Begonia soil

1. Soil preparation: When preparing the soil for crabapple, try to choose garden soil + river sand + leaf mold + a small amount of sawdust, and mix them in a ratio of 3:1:1:1.

2. Add sawdust: Because crabapples are afraid of water stains, if they are not watered properly, water accumulation will easily occur. Adding river sand to the soil can reduce the occurrence of water accumulation. Sawdust can increase the softness of the soil, prevent compaction, and extend the use time of the soil.

Begonia flower soil maintenance

1. Change the soil for crabapples on sunny days in spring and autumn. At this time, the plants grow faster with new soil and can resume growth immediately. Usually the soil should be changed after about one year of cultivation, and sometimes every two years.

2. It is okay to place wood ash in the soil of crabapple flowers. Wood ash is rich in nutrients, among which potassium is the highest. The main function of potassium fertilizer is to improve the plant's drought resistance, cold resistance, lodging resistance, and disease and pest resistance, but don't place too much.

3. Eggshells can be added to the soil for crabapples. The main component of eggshells is calcium carbonate, which helps to supplement calcium fertilizer. At the same time, the remaining egg whites can also supplement the nutrients of nitrogen fertilizer.

What to do if there are bugs in the soil of Begonia

1. Aphids: The affected parts of the crabapple flowers turn brown, the leaves curl, the tender shoots bend, and the flower buds shrivel. Immediately spray 1200 times liquid 40% aphid. If the number of potted plants is small, you can use a small brush dipped in water to brush them.

2. Red spider mites: When yellow spots appear on the leaves of crabapple after being infested by pests, immediately spray 1,200 kilograms of 40% omethoate diluted with water or 1,000 kilograms of trichloronate diluted with water. It is best to spray both sides of the leaves. To improve the efficacy of the medicine, clean the dust on the leaves with clean water before spraying.
