What is the best fertilizer for geraniums?

What is the best fertilizer for geraniums?

Geranium fertilization time

Geraniums can be fertilized when they are growing vigorously, mainly in spring and autumn. Of course, they can also be fertilized in appropriate amounts in summer and winter, but the number of fertilizations needs to be reduced. During normal maintenance, thin fertilizers can be used once every week or so, mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, so that it will grow better.

If the geranium has just been potted, there is no need for top dressing. You need to wait until it starts to grow normally, usually after 30 days, and then apply top dressing appropriately.

What fertilizer to use for geranium

In the early stage of geranium growth, nitrogen-containing fertilizers are mainly applied. Phosphorus and potassium fertilizers need to be applied before flowering to promote the differentiation of flower buds and flowering. Appropriate fertilizer supplementation is also needed after flowering. Liquid fertilizer can be directly watered. If it is granular, it needs to be slowly added around the flower pot.

Geranium Fertilization Method

Geraniums grow very vigorously in spring and autumn, and need to be applied with thin fertilizers every 7 days. However, in summer, when the temperature is high, fertilization needs to be controlled to avoid fertilizer damage. After applying fertilizer once before winter, no more fertilizer is required.

Geranium fertilization precautions

When applying base fertilizer to geraniums, it must be fully decomposed before application to avoid burning the roots. Watering is required in time after fertilizing. Fertilizer should be applied in appropriate amounts, not too much, and raw or concentrated fertilizers should not be used.
