How to grow Lithops quickly

How to grow Lithops quickly

1. Soil

Lithops is not tolerant to waterlogging, so the soil in which it grows must be air-permeable and loose. Sandy soil meets these two conditions, but sandy soil does not contain much nutrients and cannot meet its growth needs, so some animal manure needs to be mixed into the sandy soil to increase soil nutrients.

2. Temperature

Lithops likes heat and is not cold-resistant, so the best temperature for its growth is 20 degrees, the lowest cannot be lower than 10 degrees, and the highest cannot be higher than 30 degrees. Even in winter, the temperature of its growing environment cannot be lower than ten degrees. If it is lower than ten degrees, it will stop growing and eventually die.

3. Water

Lithops is not tolerant to waterlogging, so it does not need too much water. The rule for watering it is to water it when the soil is dry, and not water it if it is not dry. When watering it, make sure it is watered thoroughly. Generally speaking, watering two to three times a week is enough. Summer is its dormant period, so watering once a month is enough. If it is grown outdoors, special attention should be paid to rainy days, as such weather can easily cause water to accumulate in the potting soil. If it rains, it should be moved indoors to avoid the rain.

4. Lighting

Lithops likes sunlight but not strong light, so if the sun is too strong, you need to shade it to avoid burns from strong light. In winter, the days are short and the sun is not strong, so it can receive full-day sunlight, but it cannot be placed outdoors to avoid frostbite.
