Planting methods and precautions of red nanmu

Planting time of red nanmu

Red nanmu is generally harvested in spring and autumn. The best time to plant is in spring when the survival rate is the highest. It germinates in spring and grows in high temperatures in summer, so it can adapt to the new environment more quickly. If it is dug in autumn and winter, it needs to be kept warm and moisturized in time. If it is cold at the same time, it will die soon.

Planting method of red nanmu downhill pile

1. Cutting: When digging pile blanks, try to leave longer branches and roots. This can retain water well and protect important parts from damage during transportation.

2. Soaking: Newly excavated pile blanks may lose water in the soil after excavation and transportation. They can be soaked in clean water for several hours before planting to allow them to absorb enough water.

3. Incision treatment: If the incisions of new branches and roots are not handled properly, the wounds are easily infected by bacteria, making it difficult for the wounds to heal. You can apply a healing agent to the roots and tie them tightly with black plastic film.

Management techniques of red macaw stumps

1. After the pile blank is cut into place, ensure that the incision is smooth. The root incision can be smeared with clean yellow mud and then wrapped with black plastic film. This can promote wound healing and prevent the wound from cracking after moisture evaporation.

2. Prepare loose, fertile, slightly acidic leaf mold when planting. Yellow leaf mold can be used. It is better to plant a large number of stumps in the ground. Plastic film needs to be covered on top to keep it moist and warm. The survival rate is higher. For potted maintenance, you can use a deeper earth pot or a purple clay pot.

3. The soil and the pile blank should be firmly attached. The soil needs to be compacted and watered once to help the roots take hold. Cover the pile and pot together with the pot with a transparent plastic bag and keep it in a sunny place. Do not move the pile blank easily afterwards. Check the pot soil every few days to keep the soil moist.

Precautions for the maintenance of red nanmu piles

1. Sunlight: Red nanmu likes high temperature and is resistant to high humidity. It is a sun-loving plant. It needs full sunlight during its growth period. It can also be placed in a semi-sunny place. If the environment is dark and humid, there will be few roots and the tree will be weak.

2. Repotting: The red nanmu stump is generally repotted every 1 to 3 years, from late spring to early autumn. When repotting, remove more than half of the old soil, trim the roots, and replace with loose, fertile, acidic leaf mold or garden soil.

3. Watering: Follow the principle of not watering unless the soil is dry, and watering thoroughly when watering. New piles must be kept moist and must not lack water. Established plants should not be too dry in autumn, otherwise it will cause yellow leaves. In winter, you can water them with enough water before the cold wave arrives, but they must not be dry or frozen.

4. Fertilization: Red nanmu is a fertilizer-loving plant, but it cannot tolerate concentrated fertilizer, otherwise fertilizer damage will occur. New piles do not need fertilizer in the first year. In the second year, depending on the growth of the plant, organic fertilizer can be applied once every 15-30 days.
