Cultivation methods and precautions of Oxalis triangularis

Cultivation methods and precautions of Oxalis triangularis

1. Soil

It likes a shady and humid environment and can choose sandy soil rich in humus and with good drainage.

2. Lighting

It prefers light and can grow normally in full day or half day. Spring and autumn are the growing seasons, and the plant needs to receive sufficient sunlight, otherwise the petals will fade in color; in summer, it enters its dormant period, and it is necessary to shade the plant in time and provide half-light to prevent leaf burns.

3. Temperature

The suitable temperature for its growth is 16-22℃, and it is not cold-resistant, so the indoor temperature should be controlled above 5℃ in winter; if the temperature in summer is higher than 35℃, it should also be placed in a cool place to prevent the leaves from turning yellow.

4. Moisture

It likes moist soil. During the growing season, in order to grow rapidly, the soil in the pot should be kept moist, but at the same time, attention should be paid to watering in moderation to avoid water accumulation in the soil, otherwise the roots will rot and the bulbs will rot. You can postpone watering after rain.

5. Notes

Fertilize once a month during the growing season, preferably with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer; in addition, it is susceptible to leaf spot disease, gray mold and aphids, so after infection, the diseased leaves should be removed in time and sprayed with medicine.
