Longan Growth Environment and Conditions

Longan prefers a warm growing environment. Its origin is in the southern region of my country, mainly distributed in Taiwan, Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi and other regions. It is planted in the tropical regions of South Asia. It is also a relatively low-temperature resistant plant and can grow for a short time in an environment of 0-4 degrees.

Longan Growing Conditions

Longan likes a warm environment and is not very cold-resistant. It cannot be maintained for a long time in a low temperature environment. When planting, red soil with good drainage is needed.

Longan growth temperature

Longan is very sensitive to low temperature and frost. The more suitable annual average temperature is between 20-22 degrees. It cannot be planted in areas where the absolute low temperature is below -3 degrees.

The growth process of longan

The growth process of longan is mainly divided into three periods. It starts from the year when the seedlings are planted and ends when the first fruit is produced, which is its juvenile stage. When the vegetative growth turns into reproductive growth, it is its growth transition period. The most vigorous period of flowering and fruiting is its adult stage.

Longan planting time and method

Longan is usually planted in spring and autumn. It requires the use of better varieties and loose, fertile, and well-drained red soil for planting. It requires a suitable temperature environment and sufficient sunlight during maintenance. It should be watered and fertilized in a timely manner.
