Water chestnut has good adaptability. It is mainly distributed in America, Europe and Oceania. It is common in some low-lying areas such as ponds and mudflats. Except for some high-altitude and cold areas, it is more or less planted in other areas. It is mostly planted in Guilin, Guangxi, Yuhang, Zhejiang and other places in my country.

Water Chestnut Growth Conditions

Water chestnut is an aquatic plant that prefers ponds or paddy fields. It usually prefers a warm and humid growing environment. However, it is not cold-resistant, so loose loam is needed when planting it.

Water chestnut growth temperature

Water chestnuts have certain temperature requirements for growth. They will germinate when the temperature reaches 15 degrees. If the temperature is 20 degrees, they will grow faster. When dividing the plants, the temperature needs to be kept above 25 degrees.

The growth process of water chestnut

Water chestnuts will begin to sprout in spring and continue until April when the temperature reaches above 10 degrees, and sprout stems will also be produced at the same time.

When the seedlings grow to 5-6 leaf-like stems, new roots will sprout. When caring for them, they need suitable temperatures and sufficient sunlight, so that they can grow faster.
