How to grow bat kudzu

How to grow bat kudzu

1. Soil:

Bat kudzu has strong adaptability and can grow in most soils, but it is best to choose loam with good drainage, fertile texture and containing organic matter for planting.

2. Fertilization:

Before cultivation, fully decomposed manure or green manure and other high-concentration compound fertilizers should be used as base fertilizer. Top dressing is required from June to August, mainly with nitrogen fertilizers such as human manure or urea.

3. Watering:

Bat kudzu does not require much water and is not tolerant to waterlogging. Normally, water the plant thoroughly once, and don't water it too often, otherwise water will accumulate and the roots will rot easily.

4. Temperature:

Bat kudzu is not cold-resistant and prefers a cool environment. If the temperature is lower than -5℃, the plant will stop growing and may suffer frostbite. The temperature should be adjusted between 25-30℃ during cultivation.

5. Notes:

1. Diseases:

The main diseases of bat kudzu are powdery mildew and sunscald, which can damage the leaves of the plant and cause them to fall off, affecting its growth and in severe cases even leading to death. You can spray Tuijunte or Dobiocin for prevention and control.

2. Pests:

The main pests are the fall armyworm and weevils, which feed on the leaves and shoots of the kudzu, affecting its growth. You can spray chemical agents such as cypermethrin emulsifiable concentrate and deltamethrin emulsifiable concentrate, or you can use artificial trapping to control the pests.
