Should I use a large or small pot for my rubber tree?

When planting rubber trees, the size of the flowerpot needs to be controlled. Generally, we should avoid the phenomenon of small plants in large pots or large plants in small pots. Usually the diameter of the flowerpot can be half the size of the crown of the rubber tree.

Growth environment: Rubber trees prefer an environment with plenty of sunlight, high temperature and humidity. They are not shade-tolerant and generally grow better in neutral or acidic soils. The most suitable temperature is around 21-24 degrees.

Repotting time: The rubber tree can be repotted 2 years after planting. It is generally most appropriate to repot in March or April each spring. It can also be repotted in autumn and winter. When repotting, pay attention to protecting the roots.

Should I use a deep or shallow pot for my rubber tree?

Rubber trees are more suitable for planting in deep pots because they are trees with relatively developed root systems and plenty of space for root growth. If they are planted in shallow pots, it will affect the growth of the root system.

Rubber trees do not have strict requirements on the material of flower pots. Clay pots, purple clay pots, porcelain pots, and plastic pots can all be used for care and planting. In most cases, using clay pots with good air permeability will make the rubber tree grow better.

How to repot a rubber tree

1. Remove from the basin

Before removing the rubber tree from the pot, you can knock on the four walls of the pot, then turn it over, hold the rubber tree and fall it out, then trim off the diseased, insect-infested and rotten root areas, disinfect it and dry it.

2. Put it in the basin

When planting rubber trees, you need to choose a larger flowerpot, and the flowerpot must be disinfected before planting. Then when planting, you can add a few tiles to the bottom of the flowerpot, so that the flowerpot will be more breathable.
