How to Make Camellias Bloom on New Year's Day

How to Make Camellias Bloom on New Year's Day

1. About the flowering period of camellia:

The flowering period is relatively long. Under normal circumstances, camellia in the south will bloom a little later during the New Year's Day. After all, winter is coming and potted plants should be moved indoors. There are heaters or charcoal fires in the north, but not in the south. Even if you move indoors, the temperature required by camellia cannot be met.

The plants must thrive in a warm indoor environment, so they bloom earlier in the north. So when is its flowering period? The flowering period is generally about 2 months. You can see lush camellias in February and March.

2. About lighting:

Camellia is a light-loving plant. In order to better care for camellia, we should let it receive more sunlight. The longer the contact time, the better the flowers grow. If they can get half a day of sunlight every day in December, they will soon have flower buds.

3. About temperature:

If you want to grow branches, the most suitable temperature is 18 to 25 degrees. In order to achieve the goal of flowering, we should keep it at 10-20℃. Remember, the temperature should not be too high. In winter, it is recommended that you keep camellia indoors and pay attention to cooling down. Temperature is an important link. Only by controlling the temperature well can they bloom on New Year's Day. If the temperature is too low, the plant will be forced to go dormant and the flowers will grow slowly.

4. About watering:

The best water for watering camellia is rice water that has been left to stand for two days. Remember not to overwater the flowers, otherwise their roots will not be able to absorb air normally, and plants without air certainly cannot grow normally. The amount of watering for camellia should be determined according to the temperature in winter. When the temperature is too high, you can water more. The specific situation should be analyzed specifically.

5. About fertilization:

This kind of flower has very strict requirements on fertilizer. In early autumn, you can reduce the amount of fertilizer. In order to make it bloom on New Year's Day, we can start adding fertilizer in December to help it bloom as soon as possible.
