Four Seasons Orchid Cultivation Method

Four-season orchid is a plant of the Orchidaceae family. The methods of reproduction include division and sowing. Common cultivated varieties include Yazhou White Plum, Xiahuang Plum, Mengshan Colorful Butterfly, Cuiyu Peony, and Junhe Jianlan.

Four-season orchid likes warmth and is suitable for growing in an environment with an annual average temperature of 15-23℃. The temperature is hot in summer and 70-80% of the sunlight needs to be blocked. Sufficient sunlight can be provided in other seasons. It is not cold-resistant in winter and needs to take measures to keep warm. It is suitable for planting in loose and fertile soil.

Watering method

The soil of the four-season orchid needs to be kept moist, but the amount of watering must be controlled. Water must not accumulate at the roots, otherwise the root rot will lead to the death of the entire plant. Spray more water on the leaves in summer.

Fertilization method

When fertilizing the Four Seasons Orchid, do not apply concentrated fertilizer. Instead, follow the principle of applying thin fertilizers frequently. This way, the Four Seasons Orchid can grow healthily and bloom in place. Apply thin fertilizers 1-2 times a month during the growth period.

Pruning methods

During the growth period of the four-season orchid, it is necessary to pruned frequently. Old and dead leaves can be cut off to facilitate ventilation. Some leaves with dry and yellow tips should also be picked off, especially those infested with diseases and insects, which should be cut off in time and burned in batches to avoid infection.

Precautions for breeding four-season orchids

1. Control light and reduce temperature: Four-season orchids like warm environments and are suitable for growing in an environment with an annual average temperature of 15-30℃. If the light intensity is high in summer, shade measures need to be taken, otherwise the leaves will be burned under strong light.

2. Insulation and anti-freeze: Four-season orchids can withstand short-term low temperatures of -2 to -5°C under proper protective conditions, but if the temperature lasts for a long time, frost damage will occur. Therefore, the greenhouse should be kept warm in winter, or heating equipment can be used.
