1. Leaf cutting propagationIn our daily care and cultivation of chocolate bricks, the leaves of chocolate bricks may fall off due to our own carelessness, wind, children, pets, etc. It would be a pity to throw them away directly. You can use these fallen leaves for leaf cuttings, or use special pruning pliers to cut the leaves for leaf cuttings. Pay special attention to selecting relatively healthy leaves among these leaves, ensuring that there are no discoloration, softening, or external bruises, for the next step of leaf cutting propagation. Prepare new containers and soil in advance. The lower layer is mainly planting soil. Small stones are spread on the upper layer of the soil. Then sprinkle a small amount of water to ensure that the soil is slightly moist, ready for leaf cuttings. Insert the selected healthy and complete leaves into the soil surface of the prepared container. The chocolate bricks do not need too much light after the leaves are cut, so it is best to place them on a north-south balcony. Water them occasionally to keep the soil slightly moist without water accumulation. After two weeks, new root sprouts and tender leaf buds will slowly sprout. Giving them a small amount of water and sunlight can make the new chocolate bricks grow faster. 2. Propagation by cuttings of lateral budsPrepare new containers and soil in advance. The container should be of moderate size and match well. The first layer of the container should be covered with soil and the second layer with stones. Then drip a little bit of water to prepare for the side buds and branches. Select a strong plant on the chocolate brick that is growing well, then select a branch on its strong side and cut it off, remove the left and right leaves at the bottom of the branch, and put it upright in a used glass bottle, so that you can observe the growth of new roots and buds at any time. After the new roots and buds sprout out, you can insert the chocolate brick into the soil of the new pot container prepared in advance. At this time, give it a small amount of watering and a small amount of sunlight, and you can wait patiently for it to grow healthily. |
