What are the cultivation methods and precautions of small-leafed green radish

Introduction of small leaf green radish

The small-leaved green ivy is a plant of the genus Epipremnum. It has strong climbing abilities and often grows on rocks and tree trunks. It has well-developed aerial roots and can be propagated by cuttings.

Generally, in spring, select sturdy green ivy vines with a length of 15-30 cm, insert them into plain sand or coal slag, water them sufficiently and place them in a shaded place. The environment should not be lower than 20℃.

How to grow small leaf green radish

The small-leafed green radish prefers a semi-shaded environment and avoids direct sunlight. It is best kept in a place with sufficient scattered light. It is relatively drought-resistant and does not require excessive watering. Just keep the soil slightly moist. It is suitable for planting in humus-rich, loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil. The wintering temperature should not be lower than 15°C.

Watering method

Since the small-leafed green radish is an ornamental plant, its leaves must be dark green and shiny to look good, so it is important to replenish water. In summer, you can water it every 1 to 3 days. If the growing environment is relatively dry, you can use a small spray bottle to spray water around or on the leaves of the plant.

Fertilization method

The small-leafed green radish will stop growing in winter, so fertilization needs to be stopped. During the growth period, you can apply a thin liquid fertilizer every 15 days. You can also use foliar fertilizer, which can enhance the ornamental value of the leaves. Be sure to choose special fertilizers, as ordinary inorganic fertilizers are not easily absorbed by the leaves.

Pruning methods

When the stems of the small-leafed green radish are more than 20 cm long, you can cut half of them off. After new leaves grow in this part, cut half again. In winter, you can cut 1/2 or 2/3 of the stems of the plant to promote the growth of new leaves.

Precautions for growing small leaf green radish

The soil for the small-leafed green radish can be prepared by mixing leaf mold, river sand, and garden soil. Add a proper amount of base fertilizer and place it under diffuse light for maintenance. The light should not be too strong. It is very important to ensure moisture. You can water it appropriately and spray water on the leaves. For hydroponics, choose a transparent container, trim the roots, put it in the container and add clean water.
