How to root Clivia

How to root Clivia

1. Hydroponics

1. Water immersion method/medicine immersion method

Place the seedlings to be planted in a cool and ventilated place to dry, remove their pseudobulbs, soak them in water for two or three days, and take them out for later use. Prepare about 3% sugar water, soak the seedlings in it for 24 hours, about one centimeter of water, take them out and start cuttings.

You can also replace the sugar water with a vitamin B12 solvent, dilute and stir it with water, and then soak the seedling stems in it for 54 minutes to speed up rooting.

2. Warming method

As the name suggests, it means to increase the temperature. Generally, hydroponic plants are easy to take root when the temperature is above 35 degrees. This is why people use hotbed cultivation. The water temperature can be increased by 3-5 degrees to promote rooting after soaking.

2. Soil Culture

1. River sand rooting

Clean and disinfect the river sand, insert the seedling stems into the slightly moist river sand, and generally white roots will grow in about a month. During the operation, it is important to keep the river sand moist and the air circulating to avoid root rot. River sand must be disinfected, otherwise it will produce bacteria and affect the health of the plants.

2. Rooting powder

The special agent for promoting rooting is rooting powder. When cultivating in soil, choose loose and breathable humus soil, mix an appropriate amount of rooting powder into it, usually an amount the size of a thumb, spray water with a spray bottle to ensure that the loam is moist, and then plant the seedlings in it.
