What are the cultivation methods and precautions for jasmine?

Cultivation method of jasmine

Forsythia likes an environment with plenty of sunshine, warm and humid environment. It is slightly shade-tolerant, slightly cold-resistant, and afraid of waterlogging. It is suitable for planting in loose, fertile, well-drained acidic sandy soil. It grows poorly in alkaline soil. It has strong root germination ability and the parts of the branches that touch the ground are very easy to take root.

soil

Winter jasmine likes acidic soil. Do not use alkaline soil when planting, as it may cause it to not grow normally. The soil should have good drainage to reduce the occurrence of waterlogging and contain more organic matter.

illumination

Before the winter jasmine blooms, it can be kept in an environment with plenty of sunlight. During the flowering period, it no longer needs sunlight. It is best to keep it in a place with scattered light. When the temperature is high in summer, it needs to be properly shaded.

Watering

Water the forsythia frequently before it blooms. Also water it more often when the temperature is high in summer. You can also spray some water on the ground. Control watering during the rainy season and take drainage measures. Once water accumulates in the potting soil, the roots will rot.

Fertilization

During the growth period of Forsythia, you can apply decomposed liquid fertilizer once every half a month. During the flower bud differentiation period, you should apply more phosphorus fertilizer to promote faster differentiation of flower buds. You can apply organic liquid fertilizer once before flowering to ensure bright flower colors.

prune

Forsythia needs to be pruned within 10 days after its flowers fade. Keeping 2-3 flower buds on each branch can promote the next flowering. It is usually pruned twice, once in spring after flowering and once again after it grows for a period of time.

Precautions for the cultivation of jasmine

If you want the forsythia to bloom early, you can keep it in a sunny and slightly warm environment. After flowering, it is best to keep the temperature at 8 degrees. The higher the room temperature, the faster it will wither. Do not let the wind blow directly, which can extend the flowering period. Remove diseased leaves or weeds as early as possible during the growth period, and spray pesticides to eliminate diseases and pests.
