Prunella vulgaris is an important medicinal material for relieving depression and clearing liver fire.

If it is combined with Cassia seed and chrysanthemum, it can treat red, swollen and painful eyes, clear the liver and improve eyesight, etc.; if it is combined with Uncaria rhynchophylla and Cassia seed, it can treat dizziness, headache, and calm down liver yang, etc.; if it is combined with oyster, Fritillaria, and Scrophularia, it can treat scrofula skin tuberculosis.

Formula and function:

1. Take equal amounts of dandelion and selfheal, boil them in water, and take it or make it into pills. It can treat the initial stage of mastitis.

2. Take the flowers of Prunella Vulgaris. Pick them when they are in bloom, dry them in a cool place, grind them into powder, and take 10 grams every day for consumption. It has the effect of treating leucorrhea and red vaginal discharge.

3. Crush the selfheal and squeeze out the juice. Take about one cup of it. It has the effect of treating heart failure, postpartum fainting, etc.

4. Take 50 grams of Cyperus rotundus and 25 grams of Prunella Vulgaris and brew them together with tea. You can drink it at any time. It has the effects of treating photophobia, muscle pain, cold tears, liver deficiency and eye pain.

5. Take 5 grams of Uncaria rhynchophylla, 15 grams of Saposhnikovia divaricata, 2.5 grams of Arisaema consanguineum, and 5 grams of Prunella vulgaris, decoct them with water, and drink them with fermented grain wine. It is best to drink it before going to bed. It has the effect of treating facial paralysis.
