What are the cultivation methods and precautions of Wuzhu

Methods of cultivating bamboo

Wuzhu likes warm and humid semi-shady environment, is afraid of strong light and low temperature, is resistant to drought and barrenness, but not cold-resistant. The winter temperature needs to be above 6 degrees. If the temperature is too low, the plant will be frostbitten.

illumination

During its growth period, bamboo needs sufficient light so that the plant can grow healthily. However, in summer, direct sunlight can easily burn the leaves, so proper shade is needed. In addition, in order for the plant to survive the winter better, it needs to receive sufficient sunlight after winter, and the temperature should not be lower than 10 degrees.

soil

Wuzhu is suitable for growing in loose and fertile soil. It can be prepared with leaf mold, garden soil and river sand, and an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer should be added as base fertilizer, which can provide certain nutrients. The pot should be turned over and the soil should be changed every year to prevent the soil from becoming compacted and affecting its breathing.

Watering

The roots of Wuzhu are fleshy tubers and are very afraid of waterlogging, so you must not water it too much. Usually, you can just water it thoroughly once after the soil in the pot is dry. In summer, due to the high temperature, you should water it frequently and spray water around the plant to increase the humidity of the environment. In winter, control watering and water it once every half a month.

Fertilization

When planting Wuzhu, you can apply enough base fertilizer and apply liquid fertilizer once a month during the growing period. In addition, be sure to dilute the fertilizer with water before applying it to reduce the concentration of the fertilizer. Concentrated fertilizer will burn the roots and affect the healthy growth of the plant.

prune

In general, overlapping branches, overgrown branches, and internal crossing branches of Wuzhu are pruned to increase the light transmittance and ventilation of the plant. If it is used for ornamental purposes, the unsightly branches and leaves can be pruned to enhance the overall ornamental value.

Things to note when growing bamboo

1. Temperature: Wuzhu likes a warm growing environment. The suitable growth temperature is between 20-30 degrees. In summer, it only needs to be properly supplemented with water. Although it has good cold resistance, the maintenance temperature also needs to be above 5 degrees. It is best to move it to a warm place indoors for maintenance.

2. Light: If you want the bamboo to thrive, you need to keep it in a sunny place, but it cannot tolerate direct sunlight, so don't expose it to the sun, especially in the hot summer, you need to provide appropriate shade.

3. Water: The tuberous roots of Bamboo can store water and have strong drought resistance, but are not tolerant to waterlogging. Excessive watering can easily lead to root rot, so just keep the soil slightly moist. In summer, water according to the dryness of the soil surface. In winter, water as little as possible and keep the soil slightly dry.
