How to grow succulent lotus

The succulent Alocasia odora is a plant of the Crassulaceae family and the genus Sedum. The common propagation methods of Alocasia odora mainly include cutting propagation and division propagation.

The succulent Alocasia odora likes an environment with plenty of sunlight, relative dryness and good ventilation. It is slightly tolerant to partial shade, but cannot lack sunlight for a long time. The suitable temperature for growth is 20-30℃. It is not tolerant to high temperature weather and will enter a dormant period in summer. It is suitable to be placed in a place without direct sunlight, with good ventilation and no rain. Control watering and temporarily stop fertilizing.

Watering method

The succulent Alocasia is relatively drought-resistant and can store water by itself, so do not water it too much. Water it once every half a month in spring and autumn, and once every 4-5 days in summer. Avoid the hottest time at noon and do not let water droplets get on the leaves.

Fertilization method

The succulent Alocasia can be fertilized with decomposed liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer low in nitrogen and high in phosphorus and potassium once every 20 days. It is best to do it in the morning or evening. Do not splash the fertilizer on the leaves when fertilizing. Water it thoroughly once in the early morning of the next day.

Pruning methods

During the growing period of the succulent Alocasia odora, you can trim the overgrown branches and leaves, and also remove the diseased leaves, dead leaves, dense leaves, and old leaves. After the flowers bloom, you can trim the remaining flowers in time, and only keep the flower stems at 1-2 cm.

Precautions for cultivating succulent Guanyin lotus

The succulent Alocasia odora likes an environment with plenty of sunlight and needs to be provided with sufficient light during its growth period. If there is insufficient sunlight, the plant shape will be loose and the leaves will be dull in color, affecting its ornamental value. If there is sufficient sunlight, the leaves will be thick and full, the plant shape will be compact, and it will be more ornamental.

During the high temperature period in summer, water evaporates quickly, so timely watering is needed to prevent the leaves from wilting due to lack of water. Water should also be sprayed on the leaves frequently, but the potting soil should not be too moist, otherwise it will cause root rot, which is not conducive to the growth of the plant.
