What are the cultivation methods and precautions of Australian fir?

Australian fir cultivation method

Australian fir has strong adaptability and can be planted in both the north and south of my country. It likes a cool climate, is cold-resistant and shade-tolerant, likes moisture but is afraid of waterlogging. It is suitable for planting in loose, fertile, well-drained sandy soil.

Watering method

The Australian fir needs more water during the growing season and less water during the dormant period. It should be watered every 5-7 days in spring and autumn, every 3-5 days in summer, and every 10 days in winter. It also depends on the actual growth conditions. Generally, the leaves of the normal Australian fir are upright and shiny. If the leaves are wilted, water them. If the leaves are drooping, water them immediately.

Fertilization method

When growing Australian pine, it is necessary to fertilize it in time, mainly applying organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer. At the same time, you can also add some farmyard manure, cake fertilizer, etc. Pay attention to applying thin fertilizers frequently, and do not apply concentrated fertilizers or raw fertilizers.

Pruning methods

It is advisable to cut off the yellow leaves of the Australian fir at any time. In addition, it is also necessary to thin out the densely growing branches. Proper cutting of some of them can increase its light transmittance and make the overall plant look more beautiful.

Precautions for growing Australian fir

When watering the Australian cedar, it is not advisable to use tea water. Excessive watering will cause the root rot of the Australian cedar. When applying fertilizer, try to apply it along the wall of the pot and not close to the roots of the Australian cedar. If it is a newly purchased Australian cedar, no fertilizer is needed in the first 3 months because it already has nutrient soil. Excessive fertilizer can easily cause root burn.
