If you want to repot the dragon bone flower, it is recommended to do it in spring. The reason for choosing spring is, first of all, the climate is very suitable. The suitable temperature has little impact on the dragon bone flower. Secondly, the growth ability is very strong. After changing the soil, the plant can quickly adapt to the pot and adjust to the growth state as soon as possible.

Method of changing the keel pot and soil

1. Prepare the flower pot: The new flower pot for the dragon bone does not need to be too large. Its root system is not particularly developed. Prepare a flower pot of appropriate size, soak it in clean water for a day and night, brush it clean, and place it aside to dry for later use.

2. Prepare the soil: The potting soil for planting dragon bone flowers should be loose, breathable, nutritious, and well-drained. Generally, the soil can be mixed with half nutritious soil and half granular soil. Such soil can promote better growth of the plant.

3. Apply base fertilizer : When changing the soil for dragon bones, you can apply sufficient base fertilizer. It is best to use decomposed organic fertilizer, such as decomposed fish bone meal and bean cake fertilizer. They are rich in nutrients and have a very long-lasting fertilizer effect, which can meet the growth needs of dragon bones for one to two years.

4. Remove from the pot and trim the roots: After preparing the flowerpot and soil, you should take the dragon bone flower out of the pot. Before removing it from the pot, control the humidity in the pot. It should not be too wet, otherwise the soil will stick and it will be difficult to remove from the pot. After taking out the dragon bone flower, remove the old soil at the bottom. Be careful not to damage the roots. Then prepare scissors to trim the roots.

5. Planting in pots: Put broken tiles at the bottom of the pot, then fill the pot with soil, plant the dragon bone flower in it, water the pot thoroughly, and place it in a cool and ventilated place to slow down the growth of the seedlings.

Maintenance method after keel soil replacement

The keel is very easy to maintain. After changing the soil, it is better to move it to a bright and ventilated place for maintenance. It is better if the soil is a little drier. Water it when it is completely dry. It is better to keep it dry than wet. Never allow water to accumulate. High humidity will easily cause root rot.

Watering after soil replacement

Dragon bones are relatively drought-resistant but not water-resistant. If water accumulates in the potting soil, its roots will easily rot. You can water it a little after changing the soil, and then you need to wait until the soil is completely dry before watering again.

Leaves turn yellow after changing soil

The yellowing of the leaves of the dragon bone after changing the soil may be caused by too much water, too much fertilizer, high temperature or strong light exposure. During maintenance, water should not be allowed to remain in the potting soil. The same applies to fertilization. Do not apply excessive fertilizer or concentrated fertilizer. The maintenance temperature should be controlled at around 22°C. If it is too high, yellow leaves will appear.

After the keel is replaced with soil, it needs to be maintained in a place with diffused light and a good ventilation environment. After about half a month, it can be gradually moved to the sun for normal maintenance.
