The loose-tailed bamboo likes moisture and needs to be provided with sufficient water in the dry and hot season, but less watering is needed in rainy weather. Because the plant likes an acidic environment and the water in the north is more alkaline, it needs to be acidified by watering with alum fertilizer water or ferrous sulfate solution. The potting soil should be kept moist at ordinary times, and water should be sprayed appropriately in summer to increase the environmental humidity.
