How to plant small-fruited rose in pots

Select container

The plant may grow quite tall, reaching two to five meters. Therefore, in order to avoid the trouble of changing pots later, we can choose a larger container at the beginning. In addition, there are requirements regarding drainage. Containers with holes at the bottom and good drainage are better, such as clay pots.

Selecting the matrix

We need to prepare some nutrient soil for it, choose garden soil, leaf mold and rice husk ash, and mix them in the ratio of five to three to two. This is beneficial to its survival and subsequent development.

Selecting a seed

This step is very important. If you choose the wrong one, it will be difficult to survive. Therefore, seeds that are full, free of pests and diseases, and as large as possible are more likely to survive.

Planting

Fill the container partially with soil, sprinkle the seeds in, and then fill it partially with soil again. After that, pour some water and wait for the seeds to germinate.

Post-Processing

During the stage of waiting for the seeds to germinate, you must ensure that the temperature is appropriate, neither too low nor too high. The second thing is water, ensure adequate water supply.

Once the seeds sprout and continue to grow, you can adjust factors such as watering and fertilizing according to seasonal changes. For example, in early spring, water the plants once in the morning and once in the evening, and apply a higher concentration of fertilizer. Evaporation is more active in summer, so water the plants thoroughly and apply liquid fertilizer once in June after the flowers wither. Use liquid fertilizer again in autumn when the axillary buds are about to sprout, and apply organic fertilizer in winter to help it survive the winter.

In addition, it should be noted that before wintering every year, it is best to repot and change the soil, and prune the roots.
