Time and method of changing soil for Molan

Time to change the soil of Molan

The soil of Mo Lan can be changed all year round, but the best time to change the soil is in spring and autumn. The temperature at this time is neither high nor low, the damage to the plant is relatively small, and the success rate is higher.

Methods of repotting and soil changing for Molan

First, remove the black orchid from the pot and trim off the rotten and old roots. If the seedlings do not need to be trimmed, keep the soil at the roots and dry them in a cool and ventilated place. Disinfect the flowerpot and soil, then mix 2/3 of the new soil and old soil in the flowerpot, plant the plant, and compact the soil.

Notes on changing soil for Molan

1. When changing the soil of Mo Lan, if there are old or dead roots at the roots, they need to be trimmed to leave healthy roots. If you are repotting the Mo Lan seedlings, there is no need to trim the roots. Just take them out slowly, dry them in a cool place, and then move them to a new pot.

2. The new soil for Mo Lan can be a mixture of ordinary soil and bark, which can increase the nutritional content of the soil. However, before changing the flowerpot, the planting material must be exposed to the sun and disinfected to ensure that it is away from viruses and bacteria.

3. If the rhizome of Mo Lan has leaf buds, it does not need a lot of fertilizer, unless the root condition is not good. You can apply some organic fertilizer when repotting. The fertilizer must be fully decomposed and diluted with water before use.

Maintenance method of Molan after soil change

1. Do not apply fertilizer to Mo Lan after changing the pot soil. The roots are relatively fragile at this time, and the absorption function has not yet become active. If you apply fertilizer at this time, it will cause damage to the roots. It is best to wait until the life functions are completely normal before applying fertilizer.

2. After changing the potting soil of the black orchid, water it thoroughly and place it in a cool place. At this time, the plant's resistance is weak, so it is best to isolate it from other orchids to prepare for its normal revival later.

3. When growing Mo Orchid, it is usually kept indoors. However, if it is placed indoors, one thing must be paid attention to. No matter how cold it is, it must be ventilated, otherwise the leaves of Mo Orchid will turn yellow. Therefore, after changing the pot, it must be placed in a cool and ventilated place. It cannot be exposed to the sun. It cannot withstand strong light and its leaves will easily be sunburned.

4. After changing the pot soil of Mo Lan, be sure to place it in a shaded and ventilated place for about a week or ten days to help the orchid plant to adapt to the pot. After that, place it in a place with scattered light and semi-shade, and avoid direct sunlight.
