What to do if the false epiphyllum drops its leaves

What to do if the false epiphyllum drops its leaves

Improper watering

The false night-blooming cereus needs a lot of water during its golden growth period. Insufficient water will make the plants very short and extremely unsightly. However, if there is too much water, it will cause the false epiphyllum to drop its leaves. Especially in the half month after the flowering period, because the whole plant will be in a dormant state, you should reduce watering appropriately.

Root problem

A serious flower lover once did an interesting experiment: he dug out a false Epiphyllum whose leaves had wilted or even started to fall off from the soil, and cultivated it in water for a period of time. During this time, he carefully took care of the roots of the plants. After a while, a surprise happened. The originally listless false epiphyllum actually became upright. The leaves that were drooping and wilting before have become healthy. This shows that its roots are directly related to its leaf shedding.

The potting soil is not good

So if your false epiphyllum also loses leaves, you might as well try to choose a new planting pot and soil for it. Finding a "new home" for it may improve the situation.

Dormant period

The false night-blooming cereus has two dormant periods in a year. One is after the flowering period, and the other is during the hot summer. Especially in summer, many flower lovers do not know that the plants are in a dormant state at this time. In order to keep the soil moist, they still water them at normal standards, which leads to problems with the root system and leaf loss.
