How to care for hydroponic lotus

How to care for hydroponic lotus

Method of hydroponic cultivation of lotus

The growth cycle of Aspidistra is faster than that of ordinary plants and flowers. You only need to soak the seeds or part of the rhizomes in water, and it will grow rapidly in half a month. Put some silt at the bottom of the pot or bowl, generally 5 cm deep is enough.

Place part of the rhizome of the water lily in the middle, until the soil covers three-quarters of its entire body. At the beginning, we only need to inject 3-5cm deep water. As the water lily continues to grow, continue to inject water, so the first thing to do every morning is to see how tall the water lily has grown.

Hydroponic cultivation method of lotus

The temperature of the hydroponic lotus needs to be kept at around 10-25℃, and the temperature in winter should not be lower than 5℃. When watering it, pay attention to the water temperature which should be close to the air temperature. In cold weather, add a little warm water to allow it to receive enough light every day. When the sunlight is strong, move it to a cool place. If you find yellow and rotten leaves, clean them up as soon as possible.

How to grow a lotus flower in water

One-leaf lotus is a light-loving plant and should be kept in a diffused light place on the balcony, or in a bright place near the window indoors. The ventilation conditions should be good. Avoid direct sunlight in summer. The shallow pot and high temperature will damage its leaves. In summer, the water of the one-leaf lotus is generally changed once a week. About half a month, drop some hydroponic nutrient solution directly into the water to ensure the normal nutrient needs of the one-leaf lotus.

How to keep lotus leaves from turning yellow in water

The yellowing of the leaves of the water lily may be caused by lack of water. It needs to be watered in time. Fertilizer is needed in time if there is a lack of nutrients. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer can be applied once a month. If there is insufficient sunlight, more sun exposure should be given. If the plant suffers from disease, the growth environment should be improved and disease and insect control should be done regularly.

Precautions for hydroponic lotus

1. During the hydroponic culture of the one-leaf lotus, it needs to be kept in a place with diffuse light. The water can be changed once a week to keep the water clean. A few drops of nutrient solution should be added to the water every month to provide the plant with sufficient nutrients. The maintenance temperature in winter needs to be above 5 degrees, so that the one-leaf lotus can grow better in the water.

2. Water-cultured lotus is prone to disease. Its leaves will turn yellow or even rot. They must be cleaned up immediately after this happens, otherwise the water quality will be polluted and its growth will be hindered.
