Do cornflowers prefer shade or sun?

Cornflower is a sun-loving plant and is relatively easy to grow. It is very suitable to be maintained in a well-lit location. When growing it at home, you need to pay attention to providing the plant with sufficient light as much as possible.

Do cornflowers like the sun?

Cornflowers prefer sunlight, but are afraid of direct sunlight. They can be given full-sun care in winter and can be placed on the balcony at other times so that the flowers can bloom smoothly.

Cornflowers can also be exposed to the sun in the summer, but the light in the summer is strong, so they need to be properly shaded. Otherwise, if the light is too strong, the leaves of the plant will be sunburned, causing yellow leaves and fallen leaves.

Is cornflower shade tolerant?

Cornflowers are very intolerant of shade and humidity, so it is best not to grow them in overly shady places. Long-term lack of light will lead to poor plant growth. They can usually be placed in a place with scattered light for maintenance.

Cornflower growth environment

Cornflowers prefer slightly acidic soil, preferably fertile, loose and well-drained. The most suitable growth temperature is 15-20℃. They have poor cold resistance, and the best wintering temperature is around 8-10℃.

Cornflowers like water and need to be watered every day. The amount of watering should be increased appropriately during the flowering period, but water should not be allowed to accumulate in the soil and water droplets should not get on the flowers and leaves.
