How to grow jasmine in winter

How to grow jasmine in winter

1. Ensure the temperature

The temperature will drop a lot in winter. Jasmine cannot withstand the cold climate and is afraid of low temperatures, so the temperature must be maintained well to ensure that the jasmine can safely survive the winter. During the Frost Descent season, pay attention to weather conditions, move your plants indoors in a timely manner, and ensure that the temperature in your home is above 5 degrees Celsius. Generally, there is heating in indoor areas in northern China, so the temperature can be guaranteed. In southern China, if the indoor temperature is low, you can put plastic bags on the plants to keep them warm.

2. Pay attention to ventilation

Although it is moved indoors for maintenance, the growing environment cannot be too stuffy. Attention should be paid to ventilation when the temperature is high at noon so that the plant can be exposed to fresh air, which can promote healthy growth.

3. Get more sunlight

The light in winter is relatively weak and not particularly strong. You can move the plants to a place with good light and get more sunlight to promote growth, which is also beneficial for raising the temperature.

4. Reduce water and fertilizer

The temperature is relatively low in winter and the evaporation rate of water is relatively slow, so watering should be reduced. If you don’t pay attention to control, too much watering will cause water accumulation and root rot. Therefore, pay attention to supplying small amounts of water in normal times and keep the soil slightly moist. Apply fertilizer once before winter, and basically no fertilizer is required after winter.
