Mulberry growth environment conditions and characteristics

Mulberry tree growth environment conditions and requirements

Mulberry is a common fruit tree that is light-loving and drought-resistant. It generally prefers to grow in places with sufficient sunlight, warmth and relative humidity. It is widely planted in Korea, Japan, Mongolia, Central Asian countries, Russia and Europe.

Mulberry tree growth temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for mulberry trees is within the range of 25-30 degrees. When the temperature is above 12 degrees, the trees will begin to sprout, and when the temperature is below 12 degrees, the trees will stop growing. Mulberry trees have good cold resistance and can generally survive in places below minus 40 degrees.

Mulberry growth humidity

Mulberry trees like a humid environment, have a certain degree of shade tolerance, are waterproof and moisture-proof. Mulberry trees have a relatively large demand for water during their growth process. Generally, the most suitable moisture content in the soil is around 70-80%. When the moisture content drops to a very low level, it will affect the growth of the mulberry trees.

Mulberry growing soil

Mulberry trees have strong adaptability to soil and are generally not very strict about the soil they are planted in. They are more suitable for planting in slightly acidic loam or sandy loam with a soil depth of more than half a meter. Generally, attention should be paid to watering and fertilizing during planting.

Mulberry tree growth cycle and process

A growth cycle of a mulberry tree is from budding to leaf falling. Generally, June to August in summer is the peak growth period of mulberry trees. After the trees fall their leaves until the spring of the following year is the dormant period of mulberry trees. Generally, newly planted mulberry trees need to be maintained for 3 years before they can bear fruit.
