Soybean Growth Environmental Conditions and Characteristics

Soybean Growth Environmental Conditions and Requirements

Soybeans are cultivated in all parts of my country. The plants have good adaptability to the environment and prefer a warm, humid, well-lit growing environment. They demand more water and nutrients during the growth process.

Soybean growing temperature

The optimum growth temperature for soybeans is 20-25℃. Soybeans will only bloom and produce pods when the temperature is above 20℃. The plant has poor cold resistance. When the temperature is below 14℃, the plant will not bloom and the pod formation will also slow down.

Soybean growth humidity

Soybeans have high requirements for water. Watering should be done when the soil is dry and the soil moisture content should be around 70%-80%. However, water should not be allowed to accumulate in the soil, otherwise it will cause root rot.

Soybean growing soil

Soybeans have shallow roots and prefer loose, organic-rich, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. The soil pH should be between 6-7.5, as long as it is not saline-alkali soil.

Soybean growth cycle and process

The growth of soybeans goes through several stages, including seed germination, emergence, branching, flowering, pod formation, and grain filling. The growth cycle is about 180 days. The seeds can grow to 6-8 inches 25 days after germination, and can bloom 40-50 days after germination.
